How to use

To meet the diverse needs of the regional community, we loan books to the general public (those outside the school).
However, due to the purpose of the facilities, students and faculty of this school are given precedence of use, so not all services will be available. Thank you for your understanding.

Use Requirements

On a trial basis from April 1, 2014, those younger than 18 can also use the library.

[Notes of Caution]

  • 1:Those who reside in or commute to work or school in Okayama Prefecture.
  • 2:Elementary school students and younger require accompaniment by a guardian and signature on the application form to use the library.
  • 3:Those from schools affiliated with the with the Okayama Prefecture Libraries Council.
  • 4:Driver’s license, insurance card, etc., or public utilities correspondence with address listed. (Copies OK)

How to use

Those using the library for the first time (those without a user card)

  1. Fill out the “Application form for issuance of user cardPDF
  2. Bring 1 and your personal identification (driver’s license, insurance card, student ID, etc.) to the counter
  3. Receive user card

Those who only wish to use the library for the day in question will be granted a “entry permission” card.

Those who have been issued a user card

  1. After showing your “user card” at the counter, fill out the “Library use application form”

Regarding user cards

Valid period of cards
1 year from date of issue. After 1 year it can be renewed by presenting an ID, etc.

Regarding loss and reissuing of cards
Cards issued (applied for) less than 1 year ago (the valid period) cannot be reissued. (You will be unable to borrow during that period)

Regardless of the reason for loss, etc., if you do not have a “user card”
you cannot borrow from the library.

Scope of use service

Use is limited to reading and borrowing materials from the library affiliated with this school and use of search computers for those from outside the school.
Please read in the open space inside the library.

Reference

Providing appropriate assistance and responding to questions and consultations regarding the use of the library is referred to as reference service. At this library we provide the following kinds of reference service.

  • Information on using the library
  • Searching for available literature

If you have other questions, please feel free to ask at the counter.
Also, please understand that when the library is open at night or on Saturdays some services may be unavailable.

Copies in the library

The university library allows copying of copyrighted materials within a certain scope. When using the self-service copy machine located in the library, please adhere to copyright laws, fill out the “literature copying application form” and submit it at the counter before making your copies.

Notes of caution when using

  • Please be silent in the library.
  • Please handle the materials with care and do not damage them or get them dirty. When materials are dirtied or lost, you may be required to pay for this.
  • After reading, please be sure to return the material to its original location.
  • Entering the library for purposes other than using the library materials such as studying for tests is prohibited.
  • Talking on mobile phones in the library is prohibited. Also, please set your mobile phone to silent mode before entering the library.
  • Eating, drinking, and smoking inside the library are prohibited. However, drinking (containers such as plastic bottles with lids) is allowed only in the entrance hall.
  • Please look after your valuables under your own responsibility. (No lockers, etc., are available)
  • Please adhere to deadlines for returning materials.
  • You cannot copy things brought in from outside.
  • When the alarm goes off at the entrance, please follow the instructions of staff.
